Milenge Milenge (Hindi: मिलेंगे मिलेंगे, Urdu: ملیں گے ملیں گے, translation: We will meet, we will meet) is a delayed Bollywood film that released on 9 July 2010. Inspired by the 2001 romantic comedy Serendipity, the movie is directed by Satish Kaushik and stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in their fifth film together after Imtiaz Ali's Jab We Met (2007). Other members from the cast include Satish Shah, Aarti Chhabria, and Delnaaz Paul.
Plot
Priya Malhotra (Kareena Kapoor) is an orphan who hopes to have a family of her own and keeps a diary outlining her dreams and the type of man she wants to meet – someone who does not drink, smoke or tell lies. She is skeptical when her friend Honey's (Delnaaz Paul) mom, a tarot reader, Sunita Rao (Kirron Kher), predicts that she will go to a foreign land and find the love of her life in seven days. She is pleasantly surprised when she is selected to go to a Youth Festival in Bangkok. Amit Singh (Shahid Kapoor), known as Immy, who is from Delhi, also goes to Bangkok and he is everything Priya does not want in a man. Immy and his friend break into the girl’s dorm and while they are being chased by a matron, Immy enters Priya’s room and is struck by her beauty. Knowing exactly what Priya wants, he pursues her and they fall in love but their happiness is shattered when Priya, one day goes to Immy's room, finds her diary, realizing he has read her diary and lied to her. While Immy is making a promise to his friends, that he will now have his last cigarette, and last can of beer. As he takes a zip out of his can, Priya appears in front of him and all hell breaks loose. She then breaks up with Immy despite his protests. He tries to explain to her it was destiny which brought them together. Priya decides to test destiny and asks Immy to write his full name on a fifty-rupee note and buys a notebook with it. She writes her full name and phone number in the book and gives it to an old book shop. Three years later Immy, now again known as Amit, is the exact man Priya wanted him to be in South Africa, and Priya, the girl he didn't want her to be. But still, they are engaged to marry different people. Priya totally forgets him as she finds the fifty-rupee note, and then believes that they were destined to be together. Even though Amit is getting married now, he finds the notebook, and tells everything to his fiance (Aarti Chhabria), and she leaves him as she tells him where Priya is, and they both get back together, and turns out that destiny did want them together.
